    Brooklyn Bridge

    Client: New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT)

    A subcontractor to Skanska Koch’s $500 million rehabilitation project, Ferreira is responsible for the complete removal and replacement of the Brooklyn Bridge approach span, ramp structures, and roadway surfaces. Ferreira is using a state-of-the-art construction technique: “Super Slabs”.

    This process, previously performed by Ferreira, minimizes vehicular traffic congestion, improves public safety, and preserves the historical integrity of the bridge. Ferreira designed and implemented a steel plate design so the anti-skid plates would sit flush with the roadway for a safer roadway and ease of installation and removal.
