    Okeechobee Dredging

    Client: Florida Inland Navigation District

The project entailed the maintenance dredging of approximately 8,700 CY of material from a 15.2 acre area within Routes 1 and 2 of the Okeechobee Waterway. Ferreira restored the original 1936 project template which included a 100 foot wide, 3:1 side slopes and an elevation of -8ft (Route 1) and -6ft (Route 2/Rim Canal) Lake Okeechobee Datum within an allowable 1 foot overdredge depth.

Ferreira was responsible for overseeing the dredging, transportation and identification of the material dredged from the waterway. All the material was dewatered and selected for long term placement at various sites throughout Martin County.
