    PSEG Bergen Substation

    Client: PSE&G

Ferreira was subcontracted by Kenny Construction to excavate approximately 5 feet below existing grade to install a stone sub-base for a G.I.S building and a Control building (both on piles). The walls contained venting, electrical grounding and other components. The interior slab was constructed in two levels (a lower slab and an upper slab). Both the upper and lower slabs were poured with construction joints specified by the engineer. The upper slab consisted of multiple embedments such as embedded plates, anchor bolts and a series of plastibeton trenches. Finally, Ferreira was responsible for all backfilling at the conclusion of the project. Total amount of concrete placed was approximately 4,900 CY which translates to about 27,460 SF of finish floor. Finishing requirements for the floor were 1/8” over 10’.
