This contract included the construction of concrete foundations for six new turbine generators. All foundations are pile supported, and most foundations contain multiple embedded anchor bolts and supports. Also included in the contract is the overall site work for the project, and the construction of electrical ductbanks and manholes and all mechanical piping. Prior to constructing the foundations, the demolition of existing coal tunnels and foundations was completed and then backfilled with structural fill. Dewatering of the entire site is included in the contract scope of work. This is achieved through the use of multiple pumps and a treatment system capable of disposing of a million gallons per day. The contract was completed on schedule with stellar safety statistics.
