    PSEG Metuchen Monopole Foundation

    PSEG DPC is installing a new transmission line in the general location of an existing seven mile long lattice tower line that begins at the Sewaren Switching Station and ends at the Metuchen Switching Station. e corridor contains energized 138KV and 230KV transmission lines which will remain energized during the construction.

    The project is divided into three segments. Segment 1 is from the Sewaren Switching Station to the Woodbridge Substation located at 865 St. George Avenue in Woodbridge. Segment 2 is from the Woodbridge Substation to the Lafayette Substation located at 71 Lafayette Road in Fords. Segment 3 is from the Lafayette Substation to the Metuchen Switching Station.

    The scope of work, over a 9 month period, generally consists of the drilling of (32) monopole foundation shafts ranging from nine feet to 13 feet in diameter and extending from approximately 30 feet to 50 feet below grade, constructing micropile/pile caps at (10) locations, all associated soil management & disposal, and site restoration.
