The Florida Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) is converting to an All-Electronic Toll (AET) ticket system spanning from Lantana Toll in Palm Beach County to Three Lakes Toll in Osceola County. The project included the demolition of two mainline plazas and 17 ramp plazas and the design of 12 new mainline toll sites. The most critical element of this project is the removal of cash collection and replacement with AET because the entire 148 miles operate as a closed toll collection system. Ferreira Southern was subcontracted by Traffic Management Solutions to remove 18 overhead static sign structures, installing 21,116 LF of conduit, using the directional bore method, and 122,143 LF of lightning conductors.
