As part of New Jersey’s goal to become the East Coast hub for the offshore wind energy industry, Orsted and PSEG awarded Burns and McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc with the Lanoka Substation contract. The contract includes installing one high-voltage substation and nearly 3 miles of underground cable that will connect the offshore wind farm to the onshore electric grid.

Ferreira is a subcontractor to Burns and McDonnell and is responsible for site clearing comprised of site clearing, demolition, temporary construction foundations, and below-grade electrical infrastructure. Additionally, Ferreira is responsible for site restoration which includes landscaping, road paving, and security fencing. This portion of the project is currently ongoing and set to be completed in 2024.
