NW 47th Ave has been a 2-lane roadway since the 1960’s.  The Florida Department of Transportation recognized that this area was developing rapidly and that this major corridor required improvement. Ferreira Southern was responsible for the widening of a low-level bridge, installation of 375 drainage structures, 13,208 LF of solid drainage pipe and 17,200 of exfiltration trenches (french drain system), 18,137 LF of water and sewer installation along with concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter, lighting, handrails, signalization, and over 9,000 tons of asphaltic friction course.
