Ferreira Atlantic was responsible for the installation of two 36” HDPE IPS DR11 casing pipes by horizontal directional drilling means under the Niagara Thruway (Rt. 190) an overpass. The first HDD was 725LF, entering at 65th Street and exiting at 63rd Street. The second HDD was 618 LF, entering 66th Street and exiting at 68th Street. Both casings had eight equally spaced 5” HDPE conduits and four 3” HDPE tremie lines installed. The conduit pipes were encased in grout and installed through the tremie lines, and an exterior grout was installed outside of the casing pipes. Ferreira Atlantic then installed 200 LF of open-cut duct bank connecting the two HDD bores between 65th Street and 66th Street including four concrete vault structures.
