Ferreira Southern worked as the prime contractor assisting in the remediation of a plume of saltwater pollution that leaked into South Florida’s largest source of drinking water. Ferreira Southern designed and constructed a pipe bridge with a walkway and access ladders that support a 30-inch ductile iron pipe. Additionally, Ferreira Southern installed nine deep injection wells connected by more than 48,000 linear feet of HDPE pipe. Other significant work items included the installation of an 18-inch gate valve and corresponding feeder pipe, a concrete cap, and a disconnect rack for the disconnection of the old conduit and wiring.  A new start-up system was installed, and a complete site restoration was performed.
