Ferreira widened and reconstructed 2.7 miles of highway. This work included the construction of two bridges. One of the bridges was constructed over the Raritan River and the other over active railways. The demolition of the Raritan River Bridge and its replacement structure spans 396 feet. Replacement of the bridge over the NJ Transit Raritan Valley line was approximately 160 ft. All work was accomplished while keeping traffic lanes open, as well as, performing the work over two active NJ Transit tracks. Ancillary work included intersection improvements and the construction storm sewers, curbs and sidewalks.
